All The Things

It's Go-time here at Scarefest HQ, so we thought we'd take a momentary break from feeding the Paperwork Monsters and tiptoeing through the Tiny Turtles to let you know all the things we have created for your enjoyment. We have tickets, lodging, meal tickets, t-shirts, and dice all on sale (details below). We have GM sign-ups open and accepting applications (details below). We have a new charity donation plan for this year (details below). And we have some seriously disturbing...stuff...happening just outside the Minion Bunker (yes, details below). So take a few minutes and catch up on all the latest happenings...

This year's charity of choice will be...

WNCCHS, which provides sliding-scale healthcare to WNC residents, and also houses the Transgender Health Program, which provides health services to over 200 transgender WNC residents who might otherwise not be able to get care. What's up with this charity thing? Find out more right over here.

Minion Corner...we really don't need another mouth to feed.

Welcome to our ongoing section, Minion Corner, where we Minions get to tell you a little about our lives and what goes on outside the spotlight (Minion #22 has been taking a psychology course and says it will be "cathartic").

It started a couple of weeks ago, when Minion #21 went down into the catacombs to fetch some new toys for the Baby Miniature Dire Goats (they're particularly fond of rolling owlspider skulls around the compound, and the catacombs are just full of owlspiders). Just as Minion #21 rounded a corner into the NW tunnel...it noticed movement in the darkness. With trembling hands, it lit one of the sporadic lamps along the passage...and this is what it saw: a massive, cavernous mouth had developed in the wall of the tunnel, sharp teeth on prominent display, rough tongue flapping around as if looking for something to lick. Needless to say, Minion #22 did not linger. Minion #22 doesn't even like kittens (yes, Minion #22 is a monster. It happens to all of us, eventually).

We were all inclined to simply ignore this development and pretend it never happened (we do that on a pretty regular basis), but then yesterday, it started to howl. Or, more accurately, yowl. Or even meow. Can you imagine what a 20' tall catmouththing sounds like when it's crying out in a massive, echoy tunnel system that happens to pass right under your bed?

It's hard to ignore.

So, today, we sent Minion #13 to feed it, since that was all we could think to do. Minion #13 hasn't come back yet, but the noises have stopped and honestly no one has been inclined to go investigate. Minion #13 is probably fine, they just befriended it or something. In any event, it looks like we have a new resident. We have decided to name it Mountainmouth.
