In 1989 TSR came out with a second addition of their Advanced Dungeons and Dragons game, an edition that would see the most widespread expansion of of settings, options and dozens of so-called “splat” books. 2e would see the Ravenloft Module given it own campaign expansions as well as other legendary settings like Planescape, Dark Sun, Spelljammer and greatly expanding the Forgotten Realms setting. This would be the largest and sadly the last edition to be produced by TSR.

The party is staying a few nights at a wayward roadside inn, the Vine and Horseshoe, when something evil comes creeping in on the dark breezes of the evening. A new friend is kidnapped and they must race to save him from a fate darker than the night.
